my sweet best friend.
anessa.
though, i call her katy.
seriously, she's beautiful.
and i'm so beyond happy that i could be here to celebrate her wedding,
the birth of her first child
and multiple birthdays.
texas hasn't been so bad.

ever since the healthcare bill passed, this business has not flown anything but the state flag.
i think texas is about to exercise its constitutional right to secede from the union.
god bless texas.

second round soccer game for our Indian Boys Soccer team.
sadly, for both of our teams, second round was it.
our boys only lost 2 games all season.
our girls, just the last one.
the girls goalie, Tatum (her sister is Tanner...check a few posts back), was only scored on 3 times all season.
baller.

our guys praying after a tough loss.

it's supposed to spell out "PNG!"
we love our school.

some of my guys...skipping and holding hands.
awkward.

and then my camera got stolen.
scott and kevin, respectively.

scott loves candy.
we had so much fun with our sports this season.
and don't worry...there's still track.
and you bet i'll be out there cheering on the indians.
because that's what it's about.
young life.
not just football.
all sports.
all activities.
all kids.
for all eternity.
amen.

this is our dog.
presley.
yes, my family is obsessed with elvis. what about it?
this dog is satan incarnate.
meanest little dog i've ever met.
seriously.

on my way to church.
oh, hey, edward cullen car sticker.
seriously?
over it.

Saturday, March 20, 2010

have you met penna yet?
i can't remember.
she's my best friend's mom.
coincidentaly, she's one of my best friends, too.
here she is running on a treadmill, barefoot, in her best jeans, diamond bracelet and two, yes two, diamond rings.
one for each hand, of course.
love her.

Our Soccer teams went to the playoffs this year.
being a young life leader, part of our deal is that we go hang out where kids are, and bring some with us.
so we filled two SUV's of freshman and junior girls to go check out the girls first playoff game.
one of the girls on our team lead the state of texas, yes the WHOLE state, in #of goals she has 50+ in this one season. that's ridiculous. the closest person to her has like 25. she's a beast.
anyways.
we decided to make the most of our time in the stands.
what does that mean, you ask?
duh. modeling shots.

tanner.

Karlie and Marci.
Karlie's twin, Kelsie in the back right.
Mackenzie.
i'm going to edit this picture and repost it...it's gonna look great.

Emily, Cailin, Kali...respectively.

love this one.
and there's a little secret about kali that you may or may not have picked up on...
she looks just like Taylor Swift
which is why i call her tswizzle
except she's 5'5" instead of 5'11" and can't sing.
minor details, people.
Marci and Tanner went blonde.
for 2.5 seconds
Kelsie made a sign.
"Vidor ain't got nothin' on PNG"
(excuse the double negative...this is texas and yes that's how we roll)
she held it up anytime our vidor opponents' fans walked by.
and asked them if they could read.
i died.

needless to say, we won.
7 - 0.
boom. roasted.

our night was far from over.
we left the soccer fields and drove over to the baseball diamond.
our varsity boys were playing our arch rivals, the nederland bulldogs.
we stomped 'em.
11-2.
beautiful.
if you haven't been able to tell, i LOVE sports.

we then went to Sertino's (a local coffeeshop and bistro) and met up with some of our varsity cheerleaders.
they are a mess and a half.
and i love every stinkin' one of them.
this is anna.
i had no idea what she was doing.
until...

boom.
instant aladdin.
or chef boyardee.
such a beautiful face.

and why not close the night with another shot from tantan.

ah...nothing says texas quite like a rodeo.
and this ain't (ha) your typical rodeo.
this is the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo
It's a pretty big deal.
the best of the best from all aspects of rodeo sports are invited. and get BIG money if they win.
not only that, each night is finished with a concert by a MAJOR label artist.
this year some of the performers included: The Black Eyed Peas, Jonas Brothers, Brad Paisley, Lady Antebellum, Justin Beiber, Kenny Chesney, etc.
Past performers include: John Mayer, Beyonce, George Strait, Elvis Presley, Selena, Taylor Swift (all of these were record setting attendance performances, btw)
we had tickets to four shows this year: kenny chesney, lady antebellum, brooks & dunn (their final tour...before the reunion tour, of course) and.....

keith.urban.
yes. please.
the man knows how to put on a show and play that guitar...

he also had security FREAKING out.
he jumped off the stage and ran around the arena, still singing,
jumped INTO the stands and sang a song in the middle of a crowd.
he later came and played right in front of us.
i didn't get a picture of that.
i was screaming too much.

i love the show lost . maybe a little too much.
so when i looked out my window and saw smoke, i knew just what to do.
so i drove down to the river to see why the island was burning.
i still don't know exactly why, but i have a feeling i'm not gonna like the way the show ends.
(and being completely honest, Disney has been trying to build a third theme park here for DECADES - Disney World/Orange County, Florida...DisneyLand/OrangeCounty, Cali...here? Orange County, Texas. they've sent us many alluring gifts throughout the years, but the orange county people don't want it...not sure why, though. anyways, so i figured this could be an elaborate stunt by ABC (Disney owned) to tempt us again.)

remember Sarah?
Sarah and I drove for HOURS and looked at HUNDREDS (or maybe less but thats what it felt like) of prom dresses today. after countless shops and dresses and going as far as the louisiana border, Sarah chose this dress...located at...Dillard's. hilarious.
she's a favorite. for sure. and so is this dress. i love the detail.

yep. this is classic sarah.
i've taught her well.

I took my sweet friends Elizabeth, Mallory (respectively) and Leah (not pictured) to see one of my dear Nashville friends, Jake Ousley (center), play in Houston.
honestly, i had no idea he could sing.
one of my college station friends texted me back in january and said 'do you know a jake alslee?'
nope. nope i don't. jake ousley, i do.
'well he's playing here tonight...just thought i'd check'
log onto facebook and sure 'nough...he's playing music now.

best.surprise.ever.

I hate this kind of weather.
I get physically sick to my stomach on days when it's going to rain.
Kind of like Karen on Mean Girls
"My boobs can tell when its going to rain...well, they can tell when it's raining."
fortunately, the storm passed.
